Acknowledgment of Country
At Neurodiversity Unravelled, we respectfully acknowledge the Traditional Owners of the lands on which we live and work. We recognise that sovereignty was never ceded and honour the enduring connection of First Nations peoples to land, waters, culture and community.
We pay our respects to Elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples whose voices have often been overlooked or silenced. We celebrate the rich diversity within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, recognising the intersectionality of identities across spectrums such as gender, sexuality, and disability.
We are committed to challenging systems shaped by colonisation that continue to exclude or marginalise diverse communities. At Neurodiversity Unravelled, we promise to collaborate with First Nations communities to ensure our practices honour their knowledge, culture and lived experiences.
We Celebrate Inclusion with Progress Pride and Disability Pride
We celebrate inclusion by embracing the Progress Pride and Disability Pride flags as powerful symbols of diversity, equity and resilience. These flags represent our commitment to creating spaces where everyone feels valued and empowered.
The Progress Pride flag celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community, while also honouring people of colour, trans and gender-diverse individuals and those lost to or living with HIV/AIDS.
The Disability Pride flag recognises the unique experiences of individuals with visible and invisible disabilities, highlighting their strength and contributions.
Guided by lived experience and social work values of dignity, inclusion and equity, we recognise the intersection of identities and their profound impact on individuals and communities. By embracing these symbols, we reaffirm our dedication to creating environments where diversity is not just acknowledged but celebrated as essential to our collective progress.
